The objectives of the Victorian eHealth Network are to:
provide a forum for communication between and amongst government, industry, research organisations and education providers in order to encourage enterprise and innovation in eHealth solutions
encourage collaborative activities between participants to develop new knowledge and technology and leverage capabilities and strengths to win new business in the eHealth domain
assist in attracting skilled people and investment to Victoria, through the provision up to date and relevant information and links to eHealth industry opportunities
promote the Network as a whole and the capabilities of its participants in national and international markets
The Network’s activities during 2010 and 2011 are supported in part through the Victorian State Government’s ICT Linkages Program. In previous years an informal Network Steering Committee, comprising representatives of small and large organisations and staff of Multimedia Victoria, worked to build the membership base and conducted four well attended information-sharing and informal networking sessions (in Melbourne in May 2008, November 2008 and August 2009 and in Ballarat in May 2009).
